After answering the question "why can't we have this printed tomorrow?" more times than I could count, I realized we needed to educate our clients about the print process and why it took so much time for them to receive their materials.
After a few long discussions with our printers, I mapped out the process a document goes through to get printed and shipped. The piece took the shape of an 11x17 poster we hoped our clients would post somewhere in their workspace to remind them that when they approve a piece they can expect it to take 9-12 days for printing and fulfillment. I took the additional step of highlighting how the client needs to approve a proof on time in order to keep the schedule moving, along with other details that a client may not realize about the process.
